The harbour at Portpatrick is at the heart of our village life. During the summer boats of all kinds berth here, ranging from fast RIBs to sail-boats to fishing vessels. The harbour-side hotels have outdoor seating, from where one can watch the comings and goings whilst enjoying a meal or a drink. Various events take place on and around the harbour too; Lifeboat Week, The Folk Festival, St. Patrick's Festival, and also The Truck Pull and Sail Boats Week. During Lifeboat Week one of the highlights is the annual 'RIB Raid' from Northern Ireland to Portpatrick. The site of our local lifeboat escorting in around 100 RIBs is a sight to behold! All of the events draw large crowds of visitors, some by land, many by sea. Naturally, the local hotels and guest houses offer a warm welcome to all of our visitors, as well as hearty breakfasts, and, were served, evening meals. The food-lover will find plenty of places to eat locally, and the local Seafood Restaurant, right on the side of the harbour, can provide you with outstanding, fresh, local seafood all year round.

(Silverline Marine Charters supply fresh crab and lobster in season to many local outlets, and visitors too, ask for details!)

To help you plan your stay in Portpatrick here are a few links to accommodation that you might find useful! Locally, there are large hotels, medium sized hotels, guest houses and B&B accommodation. The village has two shops - both with ATM machines - several antiques shops, bars, restaurants, RNLI shop, putting green, bowling green, regular bus service, stunning sunsets and safe anchorage in both the inner and outer harbours.
